My first thought, wow, sitting for 9 hours a day is a long time! My second thought, it is completely amazing how much stuff I do every single day the reminds me of a lecture/project/chapter that I experienced at South Hills. Marketing is such a broad field that obviously I didn't learn everything I needed to know to get the job done. The good thing about Marketing at South Hills is that Gates taught me how to figure it out for myself... He encourages people to not be stuck in the box, but to learn and investigate deeper into marketing fields.
In marketing, you absolutely have to stay up to date, or you are so far behind it can take months to catch up. Months of headaches. Podcasting has been around for quite a while now... but just today I learned podcasting is like "Ipod" and "Broadcasting" put together. Makes sense, right? My newest project is to learn all about podcasting. My company has a chaplain position, and he weekly writes a short encouraging newsletter. He's going to be podcasting these newsletters soon online, so my task is to get the scoop of how exactly that works. If anyone has any input or suggestions, please let me know!
Another highlight of the week is organization vs. chaos. I have had complete chaos for the first week of work, and drastic amounts (more) of organization this second week. A filing cabinet, hanging file folders, and labels, do a great thing for the workplace. haha. I am enjoying getting organized and plotting out the next 7 weeks of my internship! I officially have a job title now too, I am the sales and marketing specialist! Super exciting...
I will try to write in this at least 2-3 times per week. Anymore than that it would probably just get boring... Until next time! - Sarah

mowrtYay, we have completed two weeks of our internship already! I am so glad that you are learning about podcasting. I didn't know that it was a mix between "IPOD" and "Broadcasting". You sound like you're having fun and gaining experience. That's a good thing.
